An ideal temperature for a ball python enclosure would be 88 to 90゚ On the hot side. And 78 to 85 on the cold side. They need enough room in their enclosure for both a hot and cold side.
Ball python's can eat rats, mice or chicks. Most keepers and breeders will feed frozen thawed, Pre killed, Or live rats. I do not recommend feeding mice. Unless you have to. A mouse does not have enough nutrients for the snake to live a full healthy life. I have heard you can feed baby chick's but beaks and claws can be troublesome so always feed prekilled or frozen thawed. Personally I always recommend rats. I prefer to feed my ball python's African softfurs or better known as asf's. This type of rat has an abundance of nutrition for the snake. They also don't grow as big as common rats. so even adult asf's can be fed to your ball python without much worry.
Any animal with teeth can bite you. However, ball pythons are some of the most docile snakes on the planet. Which makes them great pets. As humans our body temperature makes a great place for ball pythons to hang out. That's why ball pythons do not tend to run away from you when you pick them up. Building trust with your animal is a key factor When raising your ball python.
Our babies are adopted quickly, so reach out to reserve your furever friend or to ask any questions.
